A shocking incident has been reported from the Rural Water Supply and Sanitation (RWSS) department in Gajapati district's R. Udayagiri. Assistant Executive Engineer Guruprasad Patnaik allegedly received urine instead of water from a colleague, PIO Subash Chandra Behera, on July 23.
Behera filled a water bottle with urine and handed it to Patnaik, who consumed it without realizing its contents.
Patnaik fell seriously ill and was admitted to Berhampur's Bada Medical College for treatment.
After recovering, Patnaik filed a complaint with the R. Udayagiri police station, leading to a case being registered against Behera.
The police are investigating the incident to determine the motive behind Behera's actions.
Depending on the investigation's findings, appropriate action will be taken against Behera.
