Following the model of school management, all Anganwadi centres across Odisha will soon have dedicated Management Committees to boost grassroots oversight, hygiene, and operational efficiency.
The Women and Child Development Department has instructed all District Collectors to set up these bodies under the Saksham Anganwadi and Poshan 2.0 framework. Constituted by the Child Development Project Officer (CDPO), each committee will be chaired by the local Anganwadi Supervisor.
To ensure community-led governance and active participation, the panel will feature a diverse lineup of local stakeholders. Members will include a local college or higher education student, a Subhadra Yojana beneficiary, and a Self-Help Group (SHG) representative.
This strategic initiative aims to drive community engagement, ensure robust accountability, improve sanitation, and elevate the overall quality of early childhood care and nutrition services delivered at the village level.
