Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi has officially launched a bold roadmap to transform Odisha into India’s next major pharmaceutical hub. Inaugurating the state's first 'Odisha Pharma Sammelan', the CM unveiled the Odisha Pharmaceutical and Medical Devices Policy 2025, which targets an ambitious investment of ₹25,000 crore and the creation of 1 lakh jobs by 2030.
The summit marked a historic milestone with the signing of 45 Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) with various domestic and global companies. These agreements bring an immediate investment commitment of ₹6,263 crore, expected to generate 38,406 jobs in the initial phase.
To support this growth, the government also laid the foundation for dedicated Pharma and Medical Device Parks in Khordha. Chief Minister Majhi emphasized that with its strategic coastal location and investor-friendly policies, Odisha is now fully prepared to lead the country's life sciences and "med-tech" manufacturing sectors.
