To welcome the New Year, the Shree Jagannath Temple Administration (SJTA) has announced a special "Nitikanti" schedule for devotees. On December 31, the Lord will rest for only three hours, with doors reopening at 11:00 PM and rituals commencing by 2:00 AM to accommodate the massive influx of pilgrims.
Chief Administrator Arvind Padhi confirmed that while internal rituals will be expedited, devotees will have Darshan from the outer barricades on January 1.
Security & Facilities at a Glance:
Force Multiplier: A massive deployment of 10 Additional SPs, 33 DSPs, and 62 Inspectors.
Crowd Control: Entry via Singhadwar only; exit through the other three gates.
Amenities: Extended barricades, cooling tents, increased drinking water stations, and dedicated lines for senior citizens and the differently-abled.
Puri Police has also issued a strict traffic advisory to ensure a smooth transition into the New Year.
