The Odisha Vigilance department launched simultaneous raids today on two government officials—Jitendra Kumar Panda, Additional Tehsildar of Barang, and Jitendra Kumar Jena, PEO of Bancho Panchayat—following allegations of accumulating massive wealth beyond their known sources of income.
Acting on warrants from Special Vigilance Courts, teams comprising 8 DSPs and 15 Inspectors swooped down on 10 locations across Cuttack, Khurda, and Keonjhar.
Key Assets Under Investigation:
Jitendra Panda: Two three-storey buildings in Bhubaneswar, a duplex in Khurda, and his official chambers.
Jitendra Jena: A three-storey residence, a newly built market complex, two godowns, and an electrical shop.
The multi-city operation involved nearly 30 personnel, uncovering luxury properties and commercial complexes. Verification of documents and bank lockers is currently underway to determine the exact magnitude of the "black money" trail.
