Devotion to Lord Jagannath continues to manifest in massive contributions, as Law Minister Prithviraj Harichandan revealed today in the State Assembly. Responding to MLA Upasana Mohapatra, the Minister stated that in 2025 alone, the Hundi (donation box) of the Puri Sri Mandir collected ₹18.59 crore in cash.
Beyond the currency, devotees offered 3.44 kg of gold and 33.64 kg of silver ornaments last year. The Minister provided a historical perspective on the temple’s growing treasury, noting that between 1981 and 2025, a total of 58.31 kg of gold and 158.83 kg of silver have been collected from the Hundi.
