As temperatures soar across the state, the Odisha High Court has pivoted to a "Morning Court" schedule to protect lawyers, staff, and litigants from the grueling heatwave. Per the official notification from the Registrar (Administration), the new timings will take effect from April 4 and remain in place until the summer vacation.
The New Schedule:
Operating Hours: 7:00 AM to 1:00 PM
Core Judicial Hours: 7:30 AM to 12:30 PM
Recess: 10:00 AM to 10:30 AM
While most district and subordinate courts will follow this sunrise schedule, exceptions have been made for certain urban and coastal hubs where standard hours persist. These include:
Bhubaneswar & Berhampur
Chhatrapur
Koraput (Sadar) & Puri (Sadar)
