The capital is set to host the three-day ‘State Level Fisheries and Livestock Conference - 2026’ from next Wednesday, January 21. Announced by Minister Gokulanand Malik at OUAT, the mega-event at Biju Patnaik Ground will showcase a diverse array of domestic animals, with Haryana’s celebrated bulls ‘Surveer’ and ‘Inder’ expected to be the star attractions.

The conference aims to empower farmers and entrepreneurs by demonstrating modern technologies like hydroponics, Azolla production, and biofloc fish farming. High-yielding breeds, including Gir and Sahiwal cows and Black Bengal goats, will be featured in three specialized live hangars.

Minister Malik emphasized that the event supports the “Mukhyamantri Kamdhenu Yojana,” a state initiative to boost milk production and rural economy. With participation from departments like Omfed and Mission Shakti, the fair serves as a vital networking hub for fishers, livestock keepers, and SHGs to adopt sustainable, integrated farming practices.
