In a cinematic twist, the Bhubaneswar Commissionerate Police arrested a father and son for impersonating law enforcement to swindle citizens. The accused, Amit Kumar Ojha and his father Ashok Kumar Ojha, operated a sophisticated scam from Samantarapur.
Amit reportedly set his Truecaller profile to "SI" and lured victims by promising high-demand cricket tickets. Once the money—transferred to his father’s account—was received, the tickets never materialized.
When victims demanded refunds, Amit used multiple phones to call and threaten them, masquerading as a powerful police officer.
The duo's luck ran out after a woman filed a complaint at the Airfield Police Station for a ₹50,000 fraud. Following a swift investigation, real officers tracked down the fake ones. Both are currently under interrogation as police look for more victims of this "family business."
