The eyes of the nation are on West Bengal as the BJP prepares to form its first-ever government after a landslide victory in the 2026 Assembly elections. Union Home Minister Amit Shah, acting as Central Observer, and Odisha CM Mohan Charan Majhi, as Co-Observer, arrived in Kolkata today to a grand reception.

The high-stakes legislative party meeting this evening will finalize the next Chief Minister. While speculation points toward a "one CM, two Deputy CMs" formula—possibly including a woman leader—frontrunners like Suvendu Adhikari and Agnimitra Paul remain under the spotlight.

Following the meeting, the newly elected MLAs will visit Raj Bhavan to officially stake their claim.

Meanwhile, the iconic Brigade Parade Ground is being fortified by SPG personnel for tomorrow’s swearing-in ceremony.

The historic event is expected to be a massive show of strength, attended by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and several Union Ministers, marking a tectonic shift in Bengal's political landscape.
