Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi has expressed profound grief over the brutal murder of a youth in Balianta, signaling a zero-tolerance policy toward vigilantism. In a high-level briefing with DGP Y.B. Khurania, the CM ordered a thorough investigation and the strictest possible action against those involved to reaffirm the rule of law.
Emphasizing prevention, Majhi directed the police force to remain extra vigilant to ensure such "mob lynching" horrors are never repeated. Currently, four suspects have been arrested as the investigation intensifies.
The CM also coordinated with State Women’s Commission Chairperson, Shobhana Mohanty, who is scheduled to visit Balianta tomorrow. Her mission is to record statements from the women involved in the initial allegations of abuse, ensuring all sides of the incident are uncovered.
This swift administrative response aims to restore public confidence and send a clear warning: no matter the provocation, taking the law into one's own hands will carry severe consequences.
