Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi today launched the ambitious 'Mukhyamantri Adibandh Kayyam Yojana-3.0,' dedicating ₹2,738 crore to boost agricultural irrigation across Odisha.
The scheme, spanning the next five years, aims to construct 3,000 new check dams and rehabilitate 2,000 old ones, providing irrigation to an estimated 48,000 hectares of land.
At the OUAT recruitment fair, the CM laid the foundation stone for 201 new check dams (₹160 crore) and dedicated 101 completed check dams (₹70.27 crore) under the scheme.
The total development push, which included inaugurating projects worth ₹425 crore and laying foundation stones for projects worth ₹2,063 crore, is set to benefit over 1.27 lakh farmers by developing irrigation for 1.71 lakh hectares. The event also saw the CM distributing appointment letters to 591 new officials.
