The operation resulted in the seizure and immediate destruction of 35 kg of stale and substandard food items. Authorities didn't stop at disposal; they slapped violators with fines totaling ₹5,000 for breaching safety protocols.
With tourist numbers surging this season, officials emphasized that public health is non-negotiable. "This is just the beginning," the department warned, noting that similar unannounced inspections will target various tourist hotspots across the state to ensure that vacationers aren't served a side of sickness with their snacks.
