To mark International Flower Day, the Institute of Agricultural Sciences (IAS) at SOA University will host its first-ever Pushpa Festival on January 19th and 20th. Held at Campus-4, this two-day event aims to bridge the gap between floral beauty and industrial growth.
The debut day features vibrant flower exhibitions and competitions open to all, with no registration fee. The second day shifts toward empowerment, featuring seminars on scientific cultivation, government incentives, and agricultural loans. "This festival will inspire farmers and students alike to explore the booming floriculture sector," noted Professor Santosh Kumar Raut.
With Odisha currently cultivating flowers across 10,000 hectares—including high-value Gerberas and Orchids—the event serves as a strategic platform for entrepreneurs and housewives to tap into this profitable market. By blending aesthetics with technical expertise, SOA seeks to strengthen the self-confidence of Odisha’s flower producers and enhance the state's floral exports.
