On the auspicious occasion of Makar Sankranti, the holy shrine of Ghatgaon became a sea of devotion as Maa Tarini appeared in her spectacular Suna Besha (Golden Attire). Since 6:30 AM, thousands of devotees have queued for a glimpse of the deity, following the traditional Makar Buda (holy dip).
The temple doors opened after elaborate dawn rituals, including Mahasnan, Majra, and Mangala Alati. A central highlight is the Makar Chaula Bhog, a sacred offering that devotees consider themselves immensely fortunate to receive.
According to Hindu belief, seeking the goddess's blessings after a ritual bath on this day grants the merit of a crore births. The air in Ghatgaon remains thick with the scent of incense and chants, as farmers and families gather to offer their gratitude for the new harvest season.
