The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has made its first significant move in the Police SI exam cheating scandal by arresting Biranchi Narayan Nayak, identified as the alleged mastermind of the Digha module.
Biranchi was apprehended by the CBI from Paralakhemundi. This arrest follows the cancellation of the Digha model after the Andhra Srikakulam model was exposed. The CBI took over the investigation from the Crime Branch, which had not previously secured a case against Nayak.
Several other key individuals linked to the scandal, including alleged mastermind Shankar Parshti, Silicon Company owner Suresh Chandra Nayak, and chief brokers Arvind Das and Muna Mohanty, were previously part of the investigation transferred to the CBI. The agency is continuing its interrogation to unravel the full extent of the operation.
