A major scandal involving fraud in the recruitment of Sub-Inspectors (SI) has shaken the state, with the central investigation revealing the involvement of Silicon Corporation and Panchsoft.
The investigation, initially handled by the Crime Branch and later taken over by the CBI, led to the arrest of Silicon Corporation head, Suresh Nayak, following the earlier apprehension of Panchsoft chief Shankar Parshti near the Nepal border.
It was found that the SI examination responsibility, initially given to ITI Limited by the OPRB, was subcontracted to Silicon Corporation, which further sub-contracted the work to Panchsoft. Following the irregularities, the IT Department blacklisted Silicon Corporation, and the state government canceled all agreements with the company.
