Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi visited the Maoist-affected Sunabeda area of Nuapada—a historic first for a sitting CM—ahead of a road show for party candidate Jai Dholakia. Accompanied by Revenue Minister Suresh Pujari and others, the CM addressed a public meeting and heard grievances.
Majhi promised comprehensive development for the tribal community, including establishing a high school with transport facilities in Sunabeda, and resolving issues like poor roads and lack of ration cards post-elections.
Indirectly targeting former CM Naveen Patnaik, Majhi stated, "Those who sat in power for 24 years did not know the Odia sentiment, could not speak Odia, and neglected the tribals." He pledged that as a tribal leader, he understands and will resolve the suffering of the backward classes, promising that Sunabeda "will definitely improve."
