The State Government has initiated a major effort to ensure clean and orderly Kharif rice harvesting, placing ministers in charge of monitoring district-level markets (Mandis).
Supplies Minister Krishna Chandra Patra announced today that a ministerial committee has been formed, with each minister allocated responsibility for overseeing the market operations in a specific district. The ministers will personally visit various markets to monitor the situation.
District Magistrates will assign dedicated officers to each market to report on daily operations. To prevent irregularities and the illegal entry of rice from neighboring states, the government has installed CCTV cameras and control rooms at market centers and border areas.
The Minister warned of strict action against any government official found involved in corruption.
