The highly anticipated wedding of Indian women’s cricket vice-captain Smriti Mandhana and musician Palash Muchhal, scheduled for November 23, has been postponed.
The decision came just hours before the ceremony after Smriti’s father suffered a sudden health scare, showing symptoms of a heart attack and requiring immediate hospitalization.
Amidst the postponement, both Smriti and cricketer Jemimah Rodrigues have deleted all haldi, mehendi, and sangeet photos from social media, sparking rumors of a rift.
However, Palash’s sister, Palak Muchhal, issued a statement on social media to quash the speculation, confirming the postponement was solely due to the "sudden deterioration in the health of Smriti's father." She requested respect for the family's privacy.
While Palash has since been discharged from the hospital after a brief admission due to his own health, there is currently no new date for the wedding.
